Trilix AI vs. Marchex
Looking for a Marchex alternative, or trying to work out whether you need call analytics or something wider? Marchex is a conversation intelligence company. It records, transcribes and scores the calls your team handles, tracks which ads drove them, and has dedicated products for automakers, dealers and auto service chains (Marchex automotive).
We build custom AI for multi-location operators: camera analytics on the bays, audits of the POS, owner dashboards, and AI phone agents. So we overlap with Marchex on call audits and location reporting, and we're a competitor here. Marchex is strong at what it does, and this page says when it's the better pick.

The short version
Marchex listens to the calls. It scores how your staff handle them, flags calls where a booking slipped away, rates sentiment on every conversation, and ties calls back to your marketing. It works with your existing phone system or its own tracking numbers. It says it doesn't sell AI agents, it evaluates them (Marchex blog, Feb 2026).
Trilix AI audits the whole visit, not only the call. Bay cameras log every car, the audit matches each visit to a POS ticket, calls are reviewed on a schedule, and it all lands on one owner dashboard by store. If you want the calls answered too, we build the AI phone agent.

Marchex pricing (checked Nov 2026)
Marchex doesn't publish prices. Its pricing URL returns a 404, and every product page points to a demo (marchex.com). Ask for pricing per location and per call or minute, whether call tracking numbers cost extra, and how long the contract runs. We don't publish prices either: a Trilix build is a one-time setup fee plus a monthly fee, quoted after a first call. The AI cost guide covers what drives it.
What Marchex does well
Marchex has been in call analytics a long time and says it analyzes over 300 million dealer calls a year. For dealers, Engage for Service flags missed repair order opportunities in real time and logs call data straight into the CRM (Engage for Automotive). For automakers and large groups, Spotlight benchmarks every dealership on call handling (Spotlight).
It also publishes useful research. In May 2026 it reported missed or failed call rates up to 21% across large multi-location auto service operators on its platform, with the best locations still near 10% (Marchex, May 2026).
And you don't have to switch phone systems. Bring Your Own Conversations runs its analysis on calls from the platform you already use, without porting numbers (Marchex).
When Marchex is the better choice
- You run a dealership BDC or call center and want every agent scored, coached and benchmarked.
- You need marketing attribution. Call tracking numbers and ad-platform data are core to Marchex and not something we sell.
- Your CRM is DealerSocket, VinSolutions or Elead and you want call data logged there automatically.
- You're an automaker or a large group comparing call handling across a dealer network.
- You want people answering every call and only need the analysis layer on top.
When Trilix fits better
- The leak isn't only on the phone. Calls are one source. Camera analytics count every car in the bay, and the audit matches each visit to a POS ticket, so serviced-but-unbilled cars, voids and hand-typed discounts show up the next morning.
- You want one owner dashboard. Calls, car counts, ticket averages and exceptions for every store on one executive dashboard, not a call report in one tool and a sales report in another.
- You want calls answered, not just scored. Our AI phone agent can answer every store's line with that store's hours, prices and live wait times from the bays.
- You run quick lubes, tire shops or car washes rather than a dealership BDC. Our void and discount audit and off-book oil change audit guides show the kind of checks we automate.
What to ask any vendor
- Does it answer calls, analyze them, or both?
- Can it see what happened after the call: did the car show up, and was it billed?
- Which of my systems does it connect to today, and which are custom work?
- Is pricing per location, per call, per minute or flat? What's the contract length?
- Do I need new phone numbers, or does it work with my current system?
- Who reviews the results each week, and who acts on them?
- Can I export every recording, transcript and report if I leave?
