Demo build on sample data

Customer Scouting for Auto Service Stores

Find the people who live near your store and haven't come in yet.

This is a demo build. It runs on sample data and legitimate data sources only. There are no licence-plate lookups. We keep the business's name private.

The problem

Every auto service store has a neighbourhood. Most of the cars in that neighbourhood need an oil change, tires or a repair at some point.

Some of those people are already customers. Many aren't. The store has no easy way to tell which is which, so marketing goes out wide and hopes for the best.

The owner wanted something narrower: who lives close by, who has never been in, and where should the next flyer or offer go?

What we built

We built a scouting tool that works store by store.

It maps the households around each location. Then it matches them against the store's existing customer list. What's left is the group that lives nearby and hasn't come in yet.

That gives the store a target for marketing instead of a guess. Offers can go to the streets and areas where the store has the most room to grow.

We were careful about data. The tool uses legitimate data sources only. It doesn't look up licence plates, and it doesn't try to identify drivers from their cars.

What's in it

  • Store-by-store maps. The households around each location, on a map.
  • Customer matching. Nearby households checked against the store's existing customers.
  • Not-yet-customers view. Who lives close and hasn't come in.
  • Targeted marketing lists. A clear set of areas to aim offers at.
  • Legitimate data sources only. No licence-plate lookups.

What it would take to go live

We learn the business first. Where each store draws customers from, what the customer list looks like, and how the store markets today.

We build to spec. The tool connects to the real customer records and the store locations. The maps and lists match how the marketing actually goes out.

Live in about 10 days. Once scope and data access are agreed, a first version is usually live in about 10 days.

The client owns their data. Customer lists and the maps built from them belong to the business.
