Demo build on sample data

Seeing which students are slipping before mid-terms

A layer on the student, learning and finance systems a university already runs, with an executive view and modules for students, outcomes and support.

This is a demo build. It runs on sample data. We keep the university's name private.

The problem

Students show warning signs long before they fail. They stop logging into the learning system, miss classes, leave fees unpaid. Usually nobody joins those dots until mid-terms.

Admissions loses applicants between the first enquiry and the finished application. The careers office can't see which skills employers want. Accreditation evidence is rebuilt by hand every cycle. Faculty spend hours on course paperwork.

The student system, the learning platform and the finance system each hold part of the story. None of them tells it.

What we built

An executive command center

Enrolment, retention, at-risk students, graduate employment, publications, the admissions pipeline, unconfirmed tuition and accreditation readiness on one screen, with enrolment by college and the week's priorities.

Retention early warning

A watchlist that combines learning system activity, grades, attendance and fee holds. It gives the reason for each flag and routes the student to advising.

Support for students and faculty

A student assistant inside the student app, and a faculty assistant for course specifications, question banks and rubric feedback. The academic stays in control.

What's in it

  • Admissions: a funnel from enquiry to predicted enrolment, a yield forecast by college, and a chat assistant that answers applicants, starts the application and flags them for scholarship review.
  • Learning analytics: pass rates and engagement by course, with the gateway courses where students struggle.
  • Careers: graduate outcomes by college, skills gaps against the job market, co-op placement matching and an alumni map.
  • Research: faculty matched to funding calls, suggested collaborators and draft proposals from prior work.
  • Accreditation and rankings: evidence mapped to each standard from live data, and a simulator showing which levers move a ranking score.
  • Student assistant: registration, fees, grades, library and deadlines. Sensitive topics go to a person.
  • Ask a question like "which students are at risk?" or "how is admissions tracking?"

What it would take to go live

How the university works. Its student and learning systems, how advising runs, what the accreditors ask for and which outcomes leadership is measured on.

Privacy controls first. Student, learning and finance data are connected with the right access rules.

A first version in about 10 days, usually the early warning and the executive view.

The university owns its data and the platform.
